Brand names - The comparison to the alternative

So what’s the difference between the alternative mp3 players and the big brand name ones?  If you look at the brand name mp3 players that are out there all they’re functions usually come out to be the same as the last model.  The technology changes at small increments that barely bring any difference to the new models.

You have probably noticed the only thing that changes constantly and most drastically is the design.  Everything else is adopted with the exception of minor adjustments.  This would lead me to believe that the designing concepts are weighted more heavily in the buyer’s point of view.

 

So what's the difference?

I myself like things done super easy!  So when you look at something like iTunes things can get a little complicated.  There’s all that syncing and menus that I never personally like.  Introducing the alternative!  How about just plugging in your mp3 player to your computer via USB cord and that’s it.  Your folders come right up from the plug and play feature.  This option allows you to organize your music folder on your computer and drag and drop them into your mp3 player.  A huge function to have for quick music transfers.  Ease of use: 5 Stars!

How about the radio?  Some come equipped with an FM radio.  This function was a nice addition to all those low key music players that other name brand players never added.  On the main screen menu you can shuffle through your menus easily from playing mp3’s to playing your favorite radio station.  It really does feel like an endless pit of music that will never stop.  Until of course you have to charge up again.

The charging option is super easy as well.  While you’re transferring music your mp3 player is charging at the same time.  If you’re player didn’t come with the charging adapter you can still charge it using your computer.  Keep the USB cord plugged in for about 4-6 hours for maximum play.  This is another feature that helps its ease of use.  No docking stations or special charging equipment needed!

Voice recording capabilities come included in some as well. There is no longer a need for those single voice recording units.  Mp3 players are coming equipped with this internal feature.  Personally I never had much use of this feature but it’s a nice added bonus to take these music players the extra mile.  If low recording volume is a concern, voice magnifying accessories can be bought for prices anyone can afford.  Super affordable!

If you like reading material, e-books or documents that are on your computer and you want to access them where ever you go then you will love this.  These alternative mp3/mp4 units have built in e-book readers.  There is a complete different location for these in your mp3 unit.  You can access your documents/e-books from the main screen menu and depending on file size you may just be able to fit quite a few of these documents with in your unit and still be able to transfer your music or videos.

Why these features were left out for the price that most pay for a name brand mp3 player is something that I never understood.  These added features bring so much more to an mp3 player.  What is more baffling is the fact that these alternatives offer so much more value at prices that would stretch every last dollar to its limit.  Maybe these features will all be updated soon on Apple’s players and others but as it stands now they are a little late.  New features, functions and devices are coming out and will be one always be one step ahead of the game.
