When Apple first came out with the mp4 mp3 player it took everyone by storm.  It was unique; the first of its kind, and the concept blew people away.  Since those days a lot has changed.  One of the biggest changes was: Competition.  This was better for the buyers in which it created price cuts and gave way to the alternative cheap mp3 players that you see today.

The market of the cheaper mp3 players started to make its way around 2005, since then the industry has been saturated by it completely.  Popularity kept growing and the word spread like wild fire.  Since the pricing and over all value of such mp3 players offered so much for so little it just became irresistible to purchase one.

Since then advancements have been made, higher memory capacity and more features have been added.  Larger screens,
better viewing experiences with OLED technology, technical designs with simplicity have become the new generation in mp3 players.

Cheap by name or by value?

Cheap is the word they are called, but by no means should that be considered as a way of description.  It is VALUE that underlies the word CHEAP.  Think any less of these mp3 players and you’ll be left mouth wide open.  For prices that some consider being “Too good to be true” should be called an understatement and although that is one way of looking at it, you can also make the argument that these “cheaper mp3 players” are well under priced.
